- Abstract
- This dataset contains the spatial (GIS) outputs from a vegetation surveys of upland Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) in Wales to National Vegetation Classification (NVC) level. The purpose of this data capture was to provide data on the extent and distribution of vegetation communities in the Welsh uplands for planning, notification and management purposes. The dataset has been extensively validated and verified. However, habitat composition may change over time due to successional trends, land management or even planned developments. A record of a vegetation type or species in the digital data is therefore no guarantee that it is still extant on the ground.
